Must Read Books

Reading was never that important to me, it was more of a requirement for school-you know, the waiting until the last minute to cram in 60 pages of reading that you didn't do before a test kind of reading. I think the switch came to me when I realized just how valuable reading is not only to my life, but to the lives of those closest to me and the importance of finding the right book. That is why I want to share a few of my favorites with you: I've read a lot of books over the past year, but only a few really stand out as having given me an eye-opening experience or changed my way of thinking, and I hope they can do the same for you!

Reading is a great way to have quiet time and to find peace during the craziness of life, but at the same time be able to learn an incredible amount about something you are interested in, in a short amount of time! Imagine, the people who wrote those books have so much knowledge to share and have taken years to acquire that knowledge but are sharing it with you.

You see, reading is like getting to hear directly from your mentors, the ones who have millions of fans and followers that you don't have direct access to. Imagine getting to speak to these leaders and get pointers from them! How cool would that be? Well, I think reading their books is kind of like sitting down with them and getting advice from the greats themselves. I'm sure you've heard of the saying "tell me the 5 people you spend most of your time with and I will tell you your future". The books I'm going to share with you are from people that I look up to and hope that I can apply their teachings to my life.

1. Rising Strong-Brene Brown (personal development/psychology): Guys, can I just say that this book stands out to me so much? Brene talks a lot about finding courage through vulnerability. This is something that we don't talk enough about in society and something that I believe will have a huge impact on the way that we view and act in your relationships, business, and the way that we carry ourselves. I cannot recommend this book and Brene enough! If you'd like to check it out here is the link:

2. 4 Hour Work Week-Tim Ferriss (business): This is one of the books that has opened my eyes immensely on how to run our business more efficiently and effectively with less time; so valuable for anyone who has their own business or wants to have their own business

3. Start With Why-Simon Sinek (business): This book has really shifted my perspective on doing business and how finding out the main reason or "why" behind what your doing is so important in growing and expanding your business

4. Crushing It-Gary Vaynerchuk (social media): I first found out about Gary about 3 years ago at a conference here in Seattle. I have been following him ever since and love his perspective on social media marketing and social media growth; he gives some amazing tips and insights in his book "Crush It" check it out here:

I hope these books will encourage you and uplift you in your journey! Have you read any of these books? I'm always looking for more books so if you have any recommendations, let me know in the comments below :)

Lots of love,
